Poppy Delevingne is an aspiring actress, and is the face of Louis Vuitton, but if she were to be cast in Fifty Shades of Grey, it would secure her role as a movie star.
Her younger sister, Cara, is a top model, and getting cast in Fifty Shades of Grey would definitely help to get Poppy back in the limelight.
“Poppy is increasingly keen to succeed as an actress in the light of her sister’s success,” said a source to the Daily Mail, “She feels that the time is right to redefine herself professionally.”
The rumor about Poppy is probably just that – a rumor. The model-turned-actress hasn’t been mentioned in any of the discussions surrounding the Fifty Shades of Grey, so she’s come out of the blue. It’s difficult to picture the fans being happy if Poppy gets cast. For one, she’s never been mentioned as a fan favorite, and second, she doesn’t fit the Anastasia Steele vibe. Ana isn’t a top model, she’s the girl next door. She’s attractive, but we hardly imagine a tall, leggy blonde being cast as the shy and submissive, lip biting Ms. Steele. And, while an unknown is a good direction to move in, perhaps Poppy is too unknown in this context to play the part of the leading lady in a movie that is so high profile. Not to mention, we don’t know if she can act or not.
